Outing disaster prevention class

In order to improve children's ability to cope with fires and other dangers, City of Yokohama, Fire Bureau conducts “outing disaster prevention classes” where firefighters are dispatched to elementary schools to provide hands-on curriculum.
The implementation time and contents can be adjusted according to your request. Please use it during social studies time etc.

Question Why is the fire engine red?

Answer Fire trucks (shobosha) are determined to be red by law.

"Red" is also a color that draws attention, and one of the reasons is to remind everyone of the fire. It is said to be one of the people.

Answer In order to hurry and head to the site, everyone knows that they will pass through the road.


Question How many fire trucks are there in City of Yokohama, Fire Bureau?

About class by firefighting staff

Implementation period and time

It is accepted throughout the year.
Class hours are based on 45 to 90 minutes, but can be changed according to your request.

Oh Response and prevention in case of fire (119 call training, smoke experience, how to use fire extinguisher, fire alarms for homes, causes and countermeasures for fires, etc.)

Online classes

From 2021, classes are also available online via Zoom.
The travel time is reduced, the class time can be secured longer than before, and it is also effective as a measure against heat stroke and infectious diseases such as influenza.
