When infectious diseases such as tuberculosis or O-157 occur, it is important to prevent the spread of the infection. For this reason, Health and Welfare Center is working to understand trends in outbreaks of infectious diseases, such as receiving notifications of infectious diseases from medical institutions.

Tuberculosis

It is an infectious disease caused by a patient with pulmonary tuberculosis directly inhaling the bacteria released into a splash such as a cough. It was once called a national disease, but in Asahi Ward, about 30 new people have become ill each year. If symptoms similar to a cold, such as cough, sputum, or fever, persists for nearly two weeks, please consult a medical institution.

Pathogenic Escherichia coli O157

Escherichia coli is a bacterium that is often found in the human intestine, of which causes enteritis such as severe diarrhea, and is called pathogenic Escherichia coli. "Photogenic Escherichia coli O157" is a typical pathogenic Escherichia coli that produces strong toxins called verotoxin, and is transmitted orally.

Norovirus

Gastroenteritis due to norovirus is characterized by occurring from winter to early spring, and nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, mild fever, etc. occur one or two days after eating. Norovirus is characterized by prone to secondary contamination from patients' stool and vomiting.

Flu

Influenza has fever of 38 ° C or higher, headache, joint pain, muscle pain, etc., as well as symptoms such as sore throat, nasal discharge, and cough. In addition, influenza is characterized by bronchitis, pneumonia, etc., which often causes severe disease. It usually spreads from late December to early March.

Infectious diseases overseas

Overseas travel opportunities have increased, but there are some areas overseas where infectious diseases that are not seen in Japan are occurring frequently, and those traveling to such areas should be careful, such as obtaining information on local infectious diseases in advance.
