Last Updated December 12, 2024

On Wednesday, November 13, the award ceremony for the Mayor of Aoba was held at the Aoba Ward Office of the Yokohama City Tax Encouragement Award. This award is given to Aoba Ward who has made significant contributions to raising awareness of payment of city taxes. This year, we commended Masafumi Sato (Masabumi), Auditor of the Federation of Green Tax Saving Associations, and Eiko Mori, a permanent director of the Green Corporation Association and chairman of the Women's Section. I handed out a certificate and souvenir.
Mr. Sato has been recommending junior high school students to operate the “Composition on Tax” contest business, electronic filing and electronic tax payment since 2020. . Mr. Mori has been engaged in tax dissemination and enlightenment activities since 2009, such as tax classroom instructors and tax picture-story shows.
After the award ceremony, Mr. Ichikawa (Ichikawa), Secretary-General of the Green Corporation Association, was also present and held a round-table conference. .
Mr. Sato said in a “Composition on Taxes” contest sponsored by the Federation of Tax Savings Associations, “I am often impressed every year because I am often impressed by the perspective of taxes unique to junior high school students during the screening.” I heard the story.
The tax picture-story show at the Aoba Ward Residents' Festival held at Mori's Green Corporation Association is popular every year, and not only children but also parents in their 20s and 30s how taxes are used. He said that it was a good opportunity to learn how taxes are reflected in private life. Also, in the tax classroom, before the lecture, the image of the tax was strongly imaged that the image of the tax was taken without permission, but after the lecture, there were many opinions that it changed to the image that it was better to have tax I heard that. I realized that such steady activities have led to the future development of Aoba Ward by promoting the correct understanding of taxes by residents of the city and making them feel familiar and important. Listening to your passion for activities, I have renewed my determination to work towards a better Aoba Ward.

Next, on Tuesday, November 26, at the tax award ceremony hosted by the tax office and tax social gathering, we handed the Mayor of Aoba Prize of the 2024 "Composition on Tax" contest.
This contest is co-hosted by the Federation of National Tax Saving Associations and the NTA every year so that junior high school students who will lead the future can become interested in taxes and deepen their understanding through composition.
This year, there were 831 entries from nine schools in the ward, and the work "Taxes that are indispensable to life" by Shimojima (Shimojima) Kanata (3rd year student at Ichigao Junior High School in Yokohama) was awarded the Aoba Mayor's Award. I was selected.
Mr. Shimojima, as stated in his essay, "Tax is a responsibility that each of us must fulfill as a member of society and symbolizes it." I felt again that our staff must always be aware of the fact that Aoba Ward is operating with taxes paid by the residents. It's a wonderful work.
After the award ceremony, I spoke a little bit on the way back. Mr. Shimojima talked about his daily life, such as school and karate who is working hard. . I hope that you will continue to enjoy learning with a wide range of interests and interests in various things. Mr. Shimojima's work will be published in the January issue of Yokohama Aoba Ward. Please look forward to it.
I hope that junior high school students in Aoba Ward will continue to receive active applications.

December 2024 Takao Nakajima, Mayor of Aoba
