We have created a "procedure guide" that guides you through the application for use of nursery schools and the procedures for free certification of kindergartens and non-licensed childcare facilities.

　The expected number of accepted applications in each month will be announced on or after the 1st of the previous month of each month in which the service starts.

Oh During the application period corresponding to the month you wish to use (see below), you can apply to the ward office by mail at the ward office window (3rd floor 4th floor).

Oh As a general rule, please submit it by mail.
　It may be difficult to confirm the arrival of documents, so if you are uneasy, please use simple registered mail.
　Please note that the submitted documents cannot be returned. We recommend that you copy the complete application form and keep it at hand.

Oh Person who hopes for the use of authorized nursery schools outside Yokohama-shi, please apply at ward office window (the third floor fourth).

○Children who need special assistance, such as disability, severe food allergies, delays in growth and development, or those who need medical care
　If you would like to take care of your child, please consult your ward Children and Families Support Division before applying.

Oh The use application is valid until March 2025 admission unless the use is decided. If you do not wish to use a nursery school, please.
　Please submit "Application withdrawal form and change of use application contents registration form" to Children and Families Support Division of your ward.

Oh Immediately before the deadline, applications will be concentrated, and it will take some time to review the documents and contact the missing documents, so please submit it as soon as possible.

Oh Please note that procedures for nursery schools are not performed on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays (including Saturday open days).

<Introduction of priority treatment for children of nursery teachers>
Yokohama City is promoting the maintenance of childcare facilities and businesses as measures for waiting-list children, and securing childcare workers is also an urgent issue. In addition, securing childcare workers is a common issue especially in each city in the Tokyo metropolitan area, and it is expected that the situation will become even more difficult in the future.
Preference for children of nursery teachers who live in Yokohama City and work at nursery schools in Yokohama City because it is considered that it is difficult to secure nursery teachers. Handling has been introduced since the usage adjustment in April 2018.
In addition, since the application for use in April 2023, we have expanded our eligible qualifications, facilities, and businesses.

・Temporary custody for infants and children, sick and post-sick childcare services
