Tsurumi / Churaumi Summer School 2024 [finished]
Tsurumi and Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium collaborate! Let's think together about what we can do to protect the sea!

In cooperation with companies in Yokohama and Okinawa Prefecture, Tsurumi Ward will implement the Tsurumi Churaumi Summer School 2024 with the main theme of "protecting the marine environment."
At the main venue, Salvia Hall (August 31 (Sat), Sunday, September 1), the "3D Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium" where you can experience the large aquarium of the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium where whale sharks swim, and the "Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium" where you can invite sea experts from the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium to hold special classes by sea teachers at the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium! In addition, there are many other things that can only be experienced here, such as special courses for each day and exhibitions made of driftwood and plastic collected from the sea!
In addition, an event will be held at Yokohama Bay Bridge Skywalk on Monday, August 5 as a satellite venue!
Participate in this event and touch on the splendor of the sea, and at the same time, think about "how to protect the rich sea" and "what can I do to protect the sea" Do you not?

①3D Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium ※Advance reservation system
Underwater images of the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium "Kuroshio Sea" large aquarium are screened in 3D! Fish such as whale sharks and mantas pop out in front of you in 3D.
You can learn about biodiversity and the marine environment while enjoying the charms of the sea and the creatures living there with images.

⑤Light Terrace RYUGU “Special Photo Experience and the Environment of the Sea” (Exhibition)
The work of Keiichi Tanaka Laboratory (K-one Lab), an optical and environmental modeling artist. In the beautiful and large seas, the negative legacy created by mankind and the light for the future coexist. RYUGU will exhibit the beautiful original appearance of the sea, along with fantastic sights, using driftwood and plastic collected from the sea. In addition, a gallery tour by Dr. Tanaka is held three times a day, and you can enjoy the illusion of light that only participants can experience.

Aim 530 Pra 5.3 Pitari Prize (limited to August 31)
The Yokohama Plan 5.3 plan aims to reduce the amount of plastic waste contained in burnable garbage by 5.3 kg per citizen.
Here you can experience the amount of plastic waste while having fun through a game of applying 530g plastic products, which weighs 1/10 of 5.3kg.♪
There may be nice prizes for those who are perfect!

Yokohama Bay Bridge Skywalk
Let's learn about the harbor while watching the sea! ※Advance reservation system
Students will learn about Port and Harbor Bureau's environmental initiatives at Yokohama Port and Shinhonmoku Wharf, and the creation of a rich sea. On the day, a large cruise ship Diamond Princess is scheduled to depart!
