Yokohama Tsurumi and Okinawa collaborate to promote marine environment protection!

This time, in Tsurumi-ku, Yokohama City, we will carry out the "Tsurumi Churaumi Summer School" with the main theme of "marine environment protection" in cooperation with companies in Yokohama City and Okinawa Prefecture.
At the main venue, the Salvia Hall, the 3D Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium, where you can experience the large aquarium of the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium, where whale sharks swim, and the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium invite sea experts from the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium to invite `` Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium '' `` Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium `` Special classes by Dr. Sharks '' and experience "richness of the sea and the importance of the sea"! In addition, we also have workshops dealing with various issues related to the sea!

Underwater images of the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium "Kuroshio Sea" large aquarium are screened in 3D! Fish such as whale sharks and mantas pop out in front of you in 3D.

Adventure photographer Naoyuki Toyoda "Plastic garbage that pollutes the sea 2050 Is the sea fine?"

Photographs of the sea taken by adventure photographer Naoyuki Toyoda will be exhibited. Why don't you think through photos how plastic garbage can affect sea creatures and our future?

Event by Tsurumi Elementary School fifth grader

The Tsurumi River has the charm of having many creatures, as well as the challenge of managing garbage. In order to let the people of the town know the charm and challenges of the river, we will perform exhibitions, games, and dances to the vine song. If you get a high score in a fishing game and a garbage separation game, you can turn Garapon and get prizes! Please come and visit the corner where you can enjoy learning.

LICOPA Tsurumi 

Exhibition of a monument to raise awareness of marine plastic waste reduction in cooperation with eight cities

Light and environmental modeling artist Keiichi Tanaka Laboratory (K-one Lab) and students from Oberlin University will collaborate to display works using plastic waste collected in the sea and rivers.
※What is the 8-city cooperation? Eight cities connected by land, rivers, and the sea (Yokohama, Kawasaki, Yokosuka, Kamakura, Fujisawa, Zushi, Yamato, Machida) are working together to promote awareness-raising activities on reducing marine plastic waste, which is one of the common issues. .
