Yokohama and Okinawa collaborate to promote marine environmental protection!

This time, in Tsurumi-ku, Yokohama City, we will hold the "Tsurumi / Churaumi Exhibition 2023" with the main theme of "Ocean Environment Protection" in cooperation with companies in Yokohama City and Okinawa Prefecture.
`` 3D Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium '' where you can experience the large aquarium of the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium where whale sharks swim, and teachers who know the sea well come to Tsurumi from Okinawa to carry out `` special classes on sea creatures '', There are plenty of events where you can experience the richness of the sea and the importance of the sea! In addition, we also have workshops dealing with various issues related to the sea!
Participate in this event and touch on the splendor of the sea, and at the same time, think about "how to protect the rich sea" and "what can I do to protect the sea" Do you not?

【1】 3D Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium

・Underwater images of the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium "Kuroshio Sea" large aquarium will be screened in 3D.
・Fish such as whale sharks and mantas pop out in front of you in 3D.
・You can learn about biodiversity and the marine environment while enjoying the charms of the sea and the creatures living there with images.
Participation fee free, capacity approximately 50 people each time (first come, first served)
You do not need to apply in advance. Please come directly to the venue on the day.

・Do you know how popular aquariums, sharks and dolphins, live in the sea? They feed and communicate with surprise abilities that are different from humans. If you go to see the aquarium after knowing the abilities and appearance of such sharks and dolphins, you will surely like "sea" and "creatures" more!
・An expert from the sea in Okinawa explains the creatures of the sea in an easy-to-understand manner.

・We will provide commentary on microplastics and sample collection experience.
・Study the microplastic and plastic waste problem in the environment and think together what we can do to prevent environmental pollution caused by microplastics and plastic waste.

・A lot of marine plastic waste is drifting on the coast of Japan. Technolab, a plastic manufacturer, has developed a unique technology to utilize the marine waste as a material. This is a workshop where you can experience the simple version.
・Make key chains by selecting marine litter collected from all over Japan. It will be finished in different colors and patterns depending on the type of choice.
・Through this experience, you will think about what kind of marine plastic waste is actually flowing into Japan and how to interact with plastic in the future.

Coral seedling experience workshop ~ Presented by OSC Co., Ltd. ~
Participation fee: 5,000 yen (tax included) / 1 person
Limited to the first 30 people (applications are always accepted during the event)
・You will need to purchase a coral seedling plate to support the Okinawa Prefectural Kunigami Fisheries Cooperative's “fishing ground regeneration (coral reef regeneration) activity”.
・Return the participant's plate with your name and a message to environmental and nature conservation to Okinawa, attach coral seedlings, and transplant them to the sea of Okinawa (special coral culture zone).
・Depending on the process and growth, the situation will be reported to the buyer by e-mail or other means. When you travel to Okinawa someday, you may be able to see how the corals you supported are growing.
