2018 1st Meotozaka Park Protection Association

Held on Wednesday, October 3, 2018

Last update date March 16, 2023

The Meotozaka Park Protection Association is located in a quiet residential area of Kirigaoka 4-chome, and is actively working to revitalize the area utilizing the park as well as the maintenance and management of the park, in cooperation with Neighborhood Association and the Children's Association. It is a group that is working on.
In 2017, we received the Yokohama City Park Protection Association Award for its significant contribution to local exchange through the holding of various events at the park beautification conservation and Park Plaza.

In this protection society, we are engaged in activities with a focus on the children's association. In recent years, we have held events such as welcome party for first graders, somen sinking, Halloween competitions, cardboard play, and tree nameplate making. .
In somen sinking, everyone cuts out bamboo, and all chopsticks and bases are made of authentic bamboo about 30m with bamboo, and in making tree nameplate, examine not only the park but also the names of the trees in nearby houses, It seems that children handmade and installed colorful and unique things.
"Because I work as an officer on a rotating basis every year, I am helping each other and consulting with each other." "In the future, I would like to take in not only 4-chome but also other areas and have a wide connection throughout Kirigaoka." Officers of the children's association.

We are also focusing on anti-crime program patrols inanti-crime program.
At the Halloween Tournament in October this year, the Children's Association and the anti-crime program Patrol Corps collaborated to make a new effort to dress up from children to adults together and perform Halloween patrols.
"From the perspective of anti-crime program, one barometer is how much children play in the park. The words of the anti-crime program patrol squad also said that it would be a local park to see them playing safely and safely. "From now on, if children and the elderly can work together on something, the area will be brighter." Was impressive.

Parks are a local resource and a place where people can connect. Based on this park, I think that it is a wonderful area that has a strong horizontal connection and is engaged in intergenerational exchanges from children to the elderly.
As nuclear families become more advanced, the vitality of the region will be more vibrant if the neighbors can create a "face-to-face relationship."
The Midori Ward Office will continue to cooperate as a partner in efforts to pass on intergenerational exchanges to the next generation.
I hope that you will continue to play an active role in "Enthusia and ideas".
