Midori Ward Food Drive

From Friday, October 1, 2021, we have permanently installed food collection boxes for food drives at district centers in the city.

What is a food drive?

Food drive refers to activities in which unused foods that cannot be used up in each household and collectively donate them to food bank organizations and local welfare facilities and organizations.
The collected food will be provided to local welfare facilities and those in need of food through the Midori Ward Japan National Council of Social Welfare.

Food products you want to provide

Food that can be stored at room temperature that is unopened and has a shelf life of two months or more
Food to be put inFood that cannot be put in

・Cereals (white rice, brown rice, alpha rice, flour, etc.)
・Canned food (meat, fish, fruits, etc.)
・Instant retort food (curry roux, cup noodles, etc.)
・Sweets (chocolate, cookies, rice crackers, etc.)
・Infant food (powdered milk, baby food, etc.)
・Seasonings (edible oil, sugar, salt, mirin, cooking sake, etc.)
・Dried food (somen, pasta, seaweed, etc.)
・Drinks (juice, tea, water, etc.)

・Those whose expiration date is less than two months
・Items that have been opened
・Refrigerated and stored
・Fresh foods (raw meat, seafood, and raw vegetables)
・Alcohol
・Pet food

Open agency day (except Saturday) from 8:45 am to 5:00 pm

From 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on opening day

Members of the Toyo Eiwa University SDGs Study Group "Delhi Komura"

At the Midori Ward People's Festival to be held on Sunday, October 16, 2022 we will hold a food drive in cooperation with members of the Toyo Eiwa University SDGs Study Group "Delhi Komura". The collected food will be distributed free of charge to those in need through the Midori Ward Japan National Council of Social Welfare.
Would you like to participate in this event?

○At the Midori Ward People's Festival, a booth will be set up at Shikinomori Park North Exit Plaza.

○Reception hours is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Yokohama So Masaru Hanabusa Gakushu Autumn Cherry Blossom Festival

A food drive was held mainly by Professor Akiko Suzuki's seminar students at the Yokohama So Masaru Hanabusa's Gakushui Autumn Cherry Blossom Festival held on October 22, 2023. Although this autumn cherry blossom festival was a university festival limited to students and on-campus officials, a total of 165 items and 38.6 kg of food were gathered.
