Midori Ward Food Drive

From Friday, October 1, 2021, food collection boxes for food drives have been permanently installed at district centers in the city.

What is a food drive?

Food drive is an activity in which unused food that cannot be used up in each household is brought in and collected and donated to food bank organizations and local welfare facilities and organizations.
The collected foods are provided to local welfare facilities and those who need food through the Midori Ward Japan National Council of Social Welfare.

Foods you want to offer

Foods that can be stored at room temperature that are unopened and have a shelf life of 2 months or more.
Foods that can be put inFoods that cannot be put in

・Graces (white rice, brown rice, alpha rice, flour, etc.)
・Canned food (meat, fish, fruit, etc.)
・Instant retort food (curry roux, cup noodles, etc.)
・Sweets (chocolate, cookies, rice crackers, etc.)
・Infant food (milk powder, baby food, etc.)
・Seasonings (edible oil, sugar, salt, mirin, cooking sake, etc.)
・Dry items (somen, pasta, seaweed, etc.)
・Drinks (juice, tea, water, etc.)

・Those whose expiration date is less than 2 months
・Those that have been opened
・Frozen or refrigerated storage
・Fresh food (raw meat, seafood, raw vegetables)
・Alcohol
・Pet food

Midori Ward People's Festival 2022


Everyone from Toyo Eiwa University SDGs Study Group "Komura Delhi"

At the Midori Ward People's Festival to be held on Sunday, October 16, 2022 we will conduct a food drive in cooperation with Toyo Eiwa University SDGs Study Group Komura Delhi. The collected food will be provided free of charge to those who need it through the Midori Ward Japan National Council of Social Welfare.
Why don't you join us at this opportunity?

○At the Midori Ward Folk Festival, a booth will be set up at Shikinomori Park North Exit Plaza.

○Reception hours is from ten a.m. to three p.m.

Yokohama Sou Masaru Hanabusa Gaku Autumn Cherry Blossom Festival

At the Yokohama Sou Masaru Hanabusa Gakushuo Festival held on October 22, 2023 (Sunday), a food drive was held mainly by Professor Akiko Suzuki's seminar students. This autumn cherry blossom festival was a university festival limited to students and on-campus officials, but a total of 165 items and 38.6 kg of food were collected.
