Midori Ward Sports Promotion Committee Liaison Council

As an important promoter of sports administration in Yokohama, we are developing sports recreation projects in cooperation with local residents in the region, and as a regional sports coordinator, Midori Ward plays the following roles.

1. Dissemination of sports and recreation (conduct of district health festival and athletic meet, etc.)
2. Promotion of city, ward, district sports recreation business (operation cooperation for Yokohama marathon, world triathlon, etc., operation of each ward sports tournament, etc.)
3. Training and excavation of successor leaders
4. Guidance and advice on local sports and recreation activities

The Midori Ward Sports Promotion Committee Liaison Council holds regular meetings with eleven chairpersons elected in each district to make decisions as a member of the Midori Ward Sports Promotion Committee. In addition, the Midori Ward Sports Promotion Committee consists of the Planning Committee, which is responsible for planning and managing events and training programs, and the Public Relations Committee, which is responsible for publishing annual public relations papers.

The Midori Ward Sports Promotion Committee Liaison Council conducts the following activities and businesses throughout the year. We are engaged in a wide range of activities, from holding and operating the “Kenmin Festival” in each district, which is a sporting event rooted in the community, to events held as this ward council, and cooperation in the operation of global sports events held in Yokohama City. Every year, the Midori Ward Sports Promotion Committee Liaison Council publishes a public relations paper called Sport Midori (News from Midori Ward Sports Promotion Committee) to encourage local residents to learn about the activities of sports promotion committee members.
