Promotion of local sports and youth development business

The Sports Promotion Committee is a part-time civil servant commissioned by the The Mayor of Yokohama based on the Basic Act on Sports and the rules of the Yokohama Sports Promotion Committee. We put base of activity in district and carry out exercise that anyone can easily do in ward and engage in sports events in ward and city. Currently, 132 sports promotion committee members are active in each district in Midori Ward.

We promote sports, recreation of inhabitant of a ward and aim at promotion of health activity and mutual friendship. Various groups in ward join and hold inhabitant of a ward meeting or workshop.

We perform various business for the purpose of healthy upbringing of young people in ward.

The Yokohama Youth Instructor is recommended by Neighborhood Association, Neighborhood Associations, etc., and is commissioned by the mayor. The term of office is two years and is also commissioned by Kanagawa Prefecture.
It is the wish of not only parents but also society as a whole to hope that the young people who will be responsible for the next generation will grow up healthy and relaxed. To that end, schools, homes, local communities and the government need to work together to create a better local environment for young people.
In order to create such a local environment, youth instructors play a role in promoting activities in cooperation with stakeholders and related organizations and organizations.
