On June 1, a ceremony was held for the selection of "Decarbonization Precedence Areas" and the selection certificate was awarded by Minister of the Environment, Tsuyoshi Yamaguchi.
In Yokohama City, the Minato Mirai 21 district has been selected as a decarbonized pre-decarbonized area. The Minato Mirai 21 district is a large-scale energy-consuming area where more than 120,000 people work and more than 60 million people visit each year during the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on strong partnerships with companies and facilities in the area, we will build a decarbonization model unique to large cities as a zero carbon city that declared decarbonization by 2050 as the first in Japan.
