The city of Yokohama is the host of the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) three times, and as the "city closest to Africa", we are promoting cooperation with various countries.
As the host country of TICAD 8 to be held in August this year, I also attended the opening ceremony at Yokohama City Hall Atrium, where I had a pre-camp in the city during the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
We sincerely pray for the success of TICAD 8, and we will further deepen our warm ties with the people of Africa together with our citizens.
