Yokohama has been hosting the past three times of the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) and has been promoting cooperation with each country as the "closeest city to Africa."
I also attended the opening ceremony at the Yokohama City Hall Atrium, the host country of TICAD 8 to be held in August this year. At the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
We sincerely pray for the success of TICAD 8 and, together with our citizens, we will further deepen our warm bonds with the people of Africa.
