Test results of organic fluorine compounds (FAS) in tap water

Due to the growing interest in organic fluorine compounds, we are pleased to announce the results of tests conducted by City of Yokohama, Water Works Bureau.

Yokohama City has been inspecting PFOS and PFOA among organic fluorine compounds (FASB) of tap water and tap raw water (water before purifying water treatment) at three water purification plants in the city since 2011. Until now, we have never exceeded the provisional target value (50ng / L) set by the government. In addition, since FY2022, PFHxS has also been inspected (the target value has not been set for PFHxS).

PFOS, PFOA, and PFHxS of tap water and tap raw water at the three water purification plants in the city inspected since 2021 were all below the lower limit of quantification. The lower limit of quantification is the minimum concentration that City of Yokohama, Water Works Bureau can accurately measure.
In addition, as a reference, we will post the PFOS, PFOA, and PFHxS test results of tap water and tap water from 2022 by the Kanagawa Prefectural Wide Area Water Supply Corporation, which supplies tap water to Yokohama City. PFOS, PFOA, and PFHxS of tap water and tap water supplied to the city inspected since FY2022 were all below the lower limit of quantification. The lower limit of quantification is the minimum concentration that can be accurately measured by the Kanagawa Prefectural Wide Area Water Supply Corporation.
