1 What is the periodic inspection of the scale?
A

According to the Measurement Law, "The" scale "(specified measuring instrument) used for transactions and certification must be made with a certification seal and must undergo periodic inspections every two years." Has been done.

2 Can I see the "scale" that is undergoing periodic inspections?

The "scale" that has passed the periodic inspection has a "periodic inspection seal" attached to the front of the "scale".
Note) As an alternative to the periodic inspection, in the case of "substitute inspection" performed by a measurer or "inspection at an appropriate measurement management office" performed by a measurer.

3 If maintenance is received from a “scale” manufacturer, do I need to undergo a regular inspection?
A

Periodic inspection is a statutory inspection prescribed by the Measurement Law, and is completely different from the maintenance performed by the manufacturer. We ask that you take the regular inspection on the specified date.

4 Hospitals use a health meter with a home mark for weight measurement. Can I take a "periodic test"?

"Health meters" and "kitchen scales" marked with a home measuring instrument cannot undergo regular inspections.
In addition, it cannot be used for trading or certification.
Please use a "scale" with a certification seal for transactions and certification.

5 Are there any penalties under the Measurement Law?
A

Article 173 of the Measurement Law states that those who violate the provisions of periodic inspections (Article 19 of the Measurement Law) shall be "fined 500,000 yen or less." Article 172 of the Act restricts use (Article 16)
It states that "imprisonment for up to 6 months or a fine of 500,000 yen or less." However, before the penalties are applied, we ask that you comply with the Measurement Law to prevent the occurrence of troubles between the parties.
