About the results of the home goods test

The Health Sanitation Division, the Health and Safety Department of Health and Safety Department, conducts a trial purchase and inspection of household goods from retailers in the city to prevent health hazards caused by clothing such as baby clothes and underwear, household detergents, and household goods such as aerosol products. In addition, as a result of the inspection, we provide guidance such as suspension of sales for products that violate the standards.

In order to check the safety of commonly distributed products for household goods for which standards for the content of harmful substances have been established based on the "Law Concerning the Regulation of Household Goods Containing Hazardous Substances". Entering a store for household goods and purchasing it for inspection is called "trial purchase".
The purchased household goods will be inspected at Yokohama City Inst. of Health to ensure that standards are met.

In fiscal 2023, we entered 15 dealers and tried to purchase a total of 64 samples, including 55 textile products (baby clothing, glue decorations, etc.), 1 sample leather product, and 8 household chemical products (home adhesives, household adhesives, household aerosol products, etc.). As a result of the test, one household chemical product (house cleaning agent) did not conform to the container standards stipulated by the Act on the Regulation of Household Goods Containing Hazardous Substances. Regarding the same product, as a result of conducting a removal inspection of the same product, it was determined that it was a violation, and guidance was given to the sales company of the product to stop selling, and the local government responsible for the manufacturer of the product Information was provided to
