About extermination of paper wasp
Last Updated July 24, 2024
Paper wasps are less aggressive than hornets, but they attack to protect their nests, so extermination is dangerous.
Here, we will introduce safer extermination methods, but do not guarantee that they will not be stabbed.
If you are allergic, never get rid of it yourself.
When using insecticide, be sure to tell neighbors in advance that they will use drugs to get rid of bees.
Before extermination
Paper wasps do not attack humans unless they are stimulated by vibrating the nest or poke with a stick.
It died around November, and only the queen bees hibernate under fallen leaves and in Kutsugi, so the nest is limited to that summer, and the empty nest is never used again.
In addition, paper wasps are beneficial insects that eat caterpillars in garden trees.
Therefore, it is not always necessary to exterminate when nesting in places where humans are hardly approaching or in high places that are not close to their neighbors.
However, if a nest is formed in a place where there is a problem with life, such as near a passage or entrance, it is better to remove it as soon as possible.
insecticide's preparation
- insecticide prepares one for flies ka (including pyrethroid as active ingredient).
- Recently, insecticide for bee removal has also been sold. It has a strong injection power, and the drug sprays linearly about 3 to 5 meters.
Observation and preparation of beehives
During the day, check the wasp and the position of the nest.
Clean up something that would interfere with the work.

Extermination work
①Performed in the evening when the bee activity subsides (sunset to about 1 hour).
②Make sure there is no traffic.
③Investigate the wind direction, approach the nest from the wind, and spray the insecticide for a few seconds.
- The bees fly all at once, but do not attack the person who is taking the medicine.
- If the bees are frightened, leave the place once, a while, and then reapply the nest.
- insecticide's bee will soon die if they fly away.
- Do not stand directly below, as bees will fall from above when spraying from just below the nest.
- When working, keep small children away.
- Even fallen bees may stab reflectively, so do not touch them with bare hands.
Clean-up
- Cleanup will be done the next day after it becomes brighter.
- Once again, place insecticide and make sure there are no bees before dropping the nest.
- Please crush the nest and dispose of it as garbage.
