About the removal of paper wasp

Paper wasps are less aggressive than hornets, but they attack them to protect their nests, so extermination involves danger.
Here, we will introduce safer removal methods, but we do not guarantee that you will not be stabbed.
If you are allergic, please do not remove it yourself.
When using insecticide, be sure to inform neighbors in advance that "use drugs are used to control bees."

Before extermination

Paper wasps do not attack people unless stimulated by vibrating the nest or plunging with sticks.
He died around November, and only the queen bees hibernating under fallen leaves and in Kutsugi, so the nest is only for the summer, and empty nests will never be used again.
In addition, paper wasps are also beneficial insects that eat caterpillars in garden trees.
Therefore, if you nest in a place where people are hardly approaching or in a high place that is not close to your neighbors, you do not always need to get rid of it.
However, if a nest is formed in a place that interferes with your life, such as near aisle or entrance, it is better to remove it as soon as possible.

Preparation of insecticide

  • insecticide is prepared for flies and mosquitoes (including pyrethroids as active ingredients).
  • Recently, insecticide dedicated to bee control is also on sale. The injection power is strong, and the drug injects linearly about 3 to 5 meters.

Observation and preparation of beehive

During the day, check that it is a paperp and the location of the nest.
Get rid of things that may interfere with your work.

Check work clothes

  • Wear long sleeves and long pants, and wear a hat. Avoid black-colored ones.
  • Wear gloves (such as work gloves) and wrap a towel around your neck (do not expose your skin). 。
  • When outdoors, wear boots and easy-to-move shoes (avoid sandals, etc., as they are easy to trip.) 。

Extermination work

①Performed in the evening (about 1 hour from sunset) when the bee activity stops.
②Make sure that there is no traffic.
③Check the wind direction, approach the nest from the wind, and spray insecticide into the nest for a few seconds.

  • Bees fly all at once, but they do not attack people who are taking medicine.
  • If the bees are scared by flying, leave the place, after a while, and then apply medicine to the nest again.
  • The bee on which insecticide was hungry, would eventually die.
  • Do not stand directly below, as bees will fall from above, as bees will fall from above.
  • When working, do not allow small children to come close.
  • Do not touch it with bare hands, as even fallen bees may sting reflectively.

Cleanup

  • Cleanup is done next day after it becomes brighter.
  • Apply insecticide again and make sure there are no bees before dropping the nest.
  • Crush the nest and dispose of it as garbage.

If a paper wasp bite.

If you are stabbed, wash the wound well with running water and treat it with ointment containing antihistamine.
If you experience severe swelling of the affected area, hives, dizziness, or nausea, consult a medical institution immediately.
