Appropriate animal breeding promotion staff

In Yokohama City, in order to promote the proper breeding of animals, we commission "Yokohama City Animal Proper Breeding Promotion Member" as an animal welfare promotion member under Article 38, Paragraph 1 of the Act on the Protection and Management of Animals.
Members of the promotion are working on the promotion of animal welfare rooted in the community, such as cooperating with the animal welfare spread project implemented by the city and each ward as volunteers, and consulting on how to keep various animals.

Application has been closed as of August 31, 2023.

1 Eligibility
　Those who have enthusiasm and insight into promoting the proper breeding of animals in the area, comply with laws and regulations, and meet all of the following requirements.
　（1） Be at least 18 years old. (As of August 31, 2023)
　（2） Have a Address in Yokohama.
　（3） Being able to cooperate with animal welfare management projects conducted by Motoichi.
　（4） In principle, be able to work during the daytime on weekdays.
　　　 (You can contact and coordinate with the Hours belt of Yokohama City Office (8:45-17:15 from Monday to Friday)).

Distribution of educational leaflets at rabies vaccination venues and other venues
Creation of educational materials such as pamphlets
Cooperation in animal welfare events such as animal welfare festivals

Support for sterilization of cats without owners
Cooperation in the transfer of cats without owners
Consultation on improvement of dog problem behavior such as barking.

Cooperation with the pet accompanying evacuation drill in the event of a disaster
Cooperation with workshops such as dog training classes organized by the ward
Participation in animal-related councils and liaison meetings

The promotion staff is active mainly in the ward in charge.
Health and Welfare Center Health Sanitation Division, each ward, serves as the contact point for consultation, with the consent of the promotion staff themselves.

(Animal Protection Promotion Member)
Article 38 The prefectural governors, etc. shall endeavor to commission animal welfare promotion members from among those who have enthusiasm and insight into promoting the protection of animals such as dogs and cats in the area.
2. Animal welfare promotion members shall carry out the following activities:
To deepen the residents' understanding of the importance of protecting and proper breeding of animals such as one dog and cat.
(Ii) To give the residents necessary advice on surgery and other measures to make reproductive inability to prevent animals such as dogs and cats from breeding unnecessarily at their request.
(Iii) To provide the owners of animals such as dogs and cats with other necessary support for transfer in order to provide these animals with the opportunity to receive proper breeding at their request.
(Iv) To provide necessary cooperation for measures taken by the national or prefectural governments to protect and promote proper breeding of animals such as dogs and cats.
(Iv) In the event of a disaster, provide necessary cooperation in measures taken by the national or prefectural governments regarding the evacuation and protection of animals such as dogs and cats.
