Oh The "Law to Partially Revise the Passport Law", which includes the implementation of electronic application for passports, came into effect on March 27, 2023.

○Some passport issuance procedures have been online. As a result, it is now possible to apply electronically for the so-called “switchover application”, which applies for the issuance of a new passport if the remaining validity period of the passport is less than one year and the information on the passport are not changed. By applying electronically through the minor portal, you do not need to visit the passport center at the time of application. However, it is necessary to visit at the time of grant.

○If you need to confirm the family register, you will not be able to accept applications after March 27, 2023, and you will need to submit a "certificate of family register (family register Certificatecertificate of partial family register)."

○Augmentation of visa fields on passports has been abolished. If there is no space in the visa field of your passport, a new passport can be issued at a low cost (however, the validity period is the same as the remaining validity period of the original passport). 。

○If you have applied for a passport after March 27, 2023 and your passport expires without receiving it within 6 months after issuance, the fee will be charged when applying for a passport again within 5 years after expiration. Please note that it will be higher than usual.
