Overview of the Sustainable Residential Area Promotion Project

Since 2012, Yokohama City has been working to create sustainable and attractive suburban areas in cooperation with local residents, companies, UR City Organizations, universities, etc. in four suburban residential areas, promoting regional exchange, guiding diverse housing and living convenience and working functions, area management, SDGs, decarbonization initiatives, and supporting community-based initiatives.

We promote approach that utilized cooperation main constituent and characteristic of each of the four districts and work on creation of new value in suburban residential areas and town development that anyone can live with peace of mind, and result of approach to other suburban residential areas Will also be deployed.

WISE Living Lab
WISE Living Lab (Sankaku BASE)

In the area along the Tokyu Denentoshi Line, Tokyu Co., Ltd. and Yokohama City are set up in an “existing town” to address various issues facing suburban residential areas near large cities by local residents, governments, universities, and private businesses. We are promoting the “next-generation suburban town development” project, a community-based and problem-solving project that solves problems through cooperation and collaboration.

In the area along the Sotetsu Izumino Line, Sotetsu Holdings Inc. and Yokohama City will promote the next generation of town development along the Sotetsu Izumino Line in order to promote environmentally friendly town development for various generations in suburban residential areas. Comprehensive cooperation agreement "was concluded in April 2013, and the "Sotetsu Izumino Line Project" is being promoted along the "Future Project".
