SDGs Future City (SDGs Future City)

What is the “SDGs Future City”?

“City, People, and Work Creation Revitalization Strategy 2017 Revised Edition (Cabinet Decision in December 2017)” “SDGs (Esde-Jiz) Action Plan 2018” (December 2017 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)) In the “Direction of the“ Japan SDGs (Esde-Jizu) model ”” in the promotion headquarters decision), the promotion of SDGs (Achiezu) by local governments.
In order to promote this, the government solicits efforts to achieve the SDGs by local governments, and designate cities that propose excellent initiatives as the “SDGs Future City”. In particular, the leading initiatives are selected as the “Local Government SDGs experimental project” and will be promoted.
In June 2018, Yokohama City was selected as the SDGs Future City and the Local Government SDGs experimental project.

Regarding the SDGs Future City Plan, we will actively implement initiatives to achieve them, regularly evaluate the progress of the initiatives, and clarify the degree of achievement.

Local government experimental project

Municipal SDGs experimental project is selected as a leading initiative to be implemented in the future city of SDGs. This is a project that is particularly focused on the basic and comprehensive efforts of the SDGs by local governments, and through integrated efforts in line with the philosophy of the SDGs (Edzu).・ It is a leading initiative with high potential to realize sustainable development through the creation of new value in the three aspects of the economy and society, and aims to achieve an autonomous virtuous cycle in the region through cooperation with various stakeholders.
