Separation and discharge guidance
Last Updated June 8, 2020
What is separate discharge guidance?
It is mandatory to dispose of garbage according to the classification and discharge method specified in the general waste treatment plan.
Regarding thorough separation, household garbage conducts briefings on residents, raises awareness through leftover garbage, and provides guidance on discharge at collection sites.
In addition, for business-related garbage, we have been calling for garbage separation, such as conducting inspections of incoming materials at incineration plants, but in some cases the separation rules have not been observed yet.
Motoichi staff performs classification discharge instruction to have you follow classification rule necessary for formation of recycling-based society.
Flow of guidance on separate discharge
If there is garbage that cannot be separated by the staff during collection work, leave it behind.
We will collect and investigate from the collection point again at a later date, and identify households that have disposed of undivided garbage.
After that, if identified, we will prepare documents and ask for visiting guidance.
Separated discharge survey landscape
We will check the garbage that has not been separated by the garbage that has been put out one by one.
While segregating one by one on site, we will look at undivided allocations.
If the unsecured garbage is not severely damaged by opening surveys
A red sticker stating that it has been surveyed is affixed and placed at the collection point.
We will look around multiple depots and examine them. 。
If it is opened and an individual can be identified, we will make separate visiting guidance documents.
Penalties System
In Yokohama-shi, it is obliged by the regulations to follow the determined classification and discharge method for both citizens and businesses when disposing of garbage.
From May 1, 2008, a system has been implemented to impose penalties (fines of 2,000 yen) on citizens and businesses that do not adhere to the sorting rules even if repeated guidance is provided.
Those who can sort but do not try to sort are eligible, and are not eligible if the classification is incorrect due to misunderstanding etc.
