Approximately 50% of the kitchen garbage sent from households are “food loss” due to untouched foods (food that can be discarded untouched), leftovers, and excessive removal (excessive removal of unedible foods such as vegetable skins).
Based on the results of the garbage composition survey in 2023, the amount of food loss from homes was calculated, and it was about 85,000 tons.
