A special exhibition was held for the first time in two years.

On October 23rd and 30th, the first public exhibition was held for the first time in two years since 2019.
Until just before the announcement of the special public exhibition, the state of emergency for the new coronavirus was issued, and we were unable to provide sufficient publicity, but many people applied.
On the day of the event, only 30 people who won the lottery were informed, but everyone was very enthusiastic about taking pictures and notes, and the staff was asked questions. Altair in Malayan Tapir, who entered the park in March, was very popular, and there were many people who seemed to be regrettable when traveling from Tapir's breeding facility.
The special exhibition is an important opportunity to directly introduce Preservation and Research Center's business, which is difficult to convey. The next event is scheduled for next spring (may be canceled due to bird flu or new coronavirus infection status). We will inform you as soon as it is decided, so please look forward to it.

Test release of Wrinkled Frog

In Preservation and Research Center, Ex situ conservation is home to Wrinkled Frog, where its population is declining. A small number of egg masses are transferred from its habitats in Yokohama City to Preservation and Research Center. Based on this, breeding is carried out to maintain its population. On the other hand, in cooperation with the people involved in the habitat, we have been conducting environmental surveys of the habitats, and have been making adjustments to future wildlife.
Then, in June and July of this year, we released Wrinkled Frog on a trial basis to its original habitat.
We will continue to conduct surveys on habitats and conduct conservation activities so that this species can be established in this area.
