A special exhibition was held for the first time in two years.
On October 23 and 30, a special public exhibition was held for the first time in two years since 2019.
Until just before the announcement of the special release, the state of emergency for the new coronavirus was being issued, and we were unable to publicize enough, but many people applied.
On the day, only 30 people who won the lottery were guided, but everyone was very enthusiastic about taking photos and memos and asking questions to the staff. In particular, Altail in Malayan Tapir, who entered the park in March, was very popular, and there were many people who seemed to regret when traveling from Tapir's breeding facility.
The special exhibition is an important opportunity to introduce the business of Preservation and Research Center, which is usually difficult to communicate. The next event is scheduled for next spring (it may be canceled due to the status of bird flu or COVID-19 infection). We will inform you as soon as it is decided, so please look forward to it.

Test release in Wrinkled Frog
In Preservation and Research Center, the population of Wrinkled Frog is Ex situ conservation, where the population is declining in Yokohama. A small number of egg masses are moved from their habitats in Yokohama to Preservation and Research Center, and they are breeding based on them to maintain their breeding populations. On the other hand, in cooperation with stakeholders in the habitat, we have continued to coordinate future return to the wild while conducting environmental surveys on habitats.
And in June and July of this year, Wrinkled Frog was experimentally released into its original habitat in the presence of stakeholders.
We will continue to conduct surveys on habitats and other activities in conservation so that this species can be established in this area.
