What is a park protection society?
The management of familiar parks, which are the "garden" of the local people and is a common property of citizens, requires not only the Yokohama City, where the park is set up, but also the active cooperation of local residents. For this reason, for daily management such as cleaning and weeding of the park, we have formed a volunteer group led by local residents, and have them cooperate. This is the "Park Protection Association".

What are the activities?
We clean and weed the park, watering flowers and trees, and call on manners to park users. Some of them are park protection associations that make use of the characteristics of the park to create flower beds to entertain the eyes of the local community, and work on the forest conservation.
What kind of person are you?
Everyone in the area around the park is a member. Some Neighborhood Associations officers have formed park protection associations at senior citizens' associations and children's associations.
How do you think?
- When a park is created, the city of Yokohama will call on the people living in the vicinity to form a park protection society.
- We form park protection society by local all of you and have you report to Yokohama-shi.
About support to park protection society
In addition to protection membership fees, the Park Protection Association provides support, such as providing goods and providing know-how necessary for activities.
