JR Ishikawacho Station South Exit Barrier-Free Development Project
Last Updated January 25, 2024
Business Overview
The north exit of Ishikawacho Station (Chinatown Exit) was made barrier-free in fiscal 2006, but there was no elevator at the south exit (Motomachi Exit) and there were stairs between the ticket gate floor and the front road.
At Ishikawacho Station, the north and south exits are divided in Nakamurakawa, so the government and Motoichi issued subsidies to JR East as a barrier-free project on the second route, and commercialized it.
Construction started in 2016, the south line (for Ofuna) home elevator was put into service on March 12, 2018, and the north line (for Yokohama) home elevator was put into service on March 1, 2019. Construction has been completed.
