Q
Why do you move a bicycle or motorcycle?
A

Public places such as roads, are not originally places to park bicycles and motorcycles.
Abandoned bicycles and motorcycles can spoil the aesthetics of the city, hinder the safe passage of pedestrians and vehicles, and can be obstacles to the passage and activities of emergency vehicles.
For this reason, Yokohama City has designated the area around the railway station as a bicycle-free zone, and bicycles and motorcycles left in the no-parking area are moved.

Q
I'm only away from my bicycle / motorcycle for a short time, but do I still move?
A

Regardless of the length of time, bicycles and motorcycles that have been abandoned are subject to movement.

Q
What does it mean to leave?
A

It is placed in a public place other than the place where parking is allowed, and it is not possible to move immediately because the user is away from bicycles.
Therefore, if you leave the bicycle on the street for a short time for shopping, etc., and you cannot move immediately, it will be an abandoned bicycle regardless of the length of the abandoned time.
("Regulations (outside site) about prevention of leaving such as Yokohama-shi bicycles "Article 2.7)

Q
There are other bicycles and motorcycles parked around the area. Isn't it unfair to move only your own bicycle or motorcycle?
