About private use permission such as river, general sewer (waterway)
Rivers and general sewers (waterways) are, in principle, "free use", and anyone can take a walk freely. However, if a specific person uses it exclusively for a certain purpose, a private use permission from the administrator is required.
Representative examples of properties that can be occupied
- Water pipes, sewer pipes, gas pipes, telephone poles, electric wires
- Bridges and other aisles
- Scaffolding for construction
About private use permission application
Person occupying river and general sewer (waterway) needs presentation of private use permission application.
In addition, it is necessary to submit an application for changes, abolition, transfer of rights, and reduction of private use fees.
Please consult with the Public Works Office of each ward or the River Management Section of the Sewerage River Bureau in advance.

About private use charges
If you receive a private use permit, you will be issued a private use permit and a delivery notice, so you will have to pay the private use fee stipulated in the regulations at the financial institution according to the delivery notice.
Private use fees vary depending on the type, quantity, area, etc. of the property to be occupied.
