Q

How are microorganisms after treating sewage treated?

Last update date October 4, 2023

A

Microorganisms proliferated in the reaction tank are reused for sewage treatment.
Activated sludge, which is a collection of microorganisms and organic matter, is sent together with sewage from the reaction tank to the final sedimentation pond, precipitated and collected.
A part of the collected activated sludge is returned to the reaction tank and used again for sewage treatment. The rest is treated in a sludge adjustment tank.

Activated sludge that can treat sewage in about a month, and most water reclamation centers produce activated sludge through reaction tanks and the final sedimentation pond.
In addition, activated sludge may be transported to other water reclamation centers.
