Nambu Sludge Treatment Plant is a facility that treats sludge generated during the sewage treatment process at the Water Reclamation Center.
Sludge from six water reclamation centers is transported through pipelines and integrated treatment at Nambu Sludge Treatment Plant.
The sent sludge is concentrated and then put into the digestion tank, where organic matter in the sludge is decomposed to generate digestion gas to reduce the amount.
The reduced sludge is dehydrated and then incinerated, and the generated ash is recycled as a raw material for construction materials.
In addition, some of the dewatered sludge is effectively used as a substitute fuel for fossil fuels by converting it at low temperature.
Site area | 123,900m2 |
---|---|
Sludge processing capacity | Approx. 14,700m3/day |
Processing method | Concentration → Digestion → Dehydration → Incineration → Effective use of ash |
Started aggregate processing | November, 1989 |
Initiatives for Environmental Measures
By incinerating sewage sludge and carbonizing it at low temperature, it is safe and hygienic.
Initiatives for Recycling-Oriented Society
In the digestion tank, sludge is decomposed by the action of microorganisms to generate digestion gas with methane gas as the main component.
The generated digestion gas is used as an auxiliary fuel for incineration, and is used for power generation.
The generated power will be used on site, and renewable energy using the feed-in tariff scheme for renewable energy.
As a result, it is sold to electric power companies.
Nambu Sludge Treatment Plant's in-house power is powered byResources and Waste Recycling Bureau Kanazawa Kogyo Co., Ltd.
It is covered by the power generated in the field.

Cross the pedestrian crossing with Namikikita Station behind and turn right.
Walk for a while, you will find the Nambu Sludge Treatment Plant Gate on your left.
Enter the gate.
Go straight into the gate and you will find the administration building on the right side.
There is an office on the second floor of the administration building.
The amount of sludge incineration ash stored on site due to the effects of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident at the time of the Great East Japan Earthquake in March 2011 reached about 25,000 tons at one time, but due to the conversion of a part of the construction material, The storage status of sludge incineration ash is as follows. (As of October 2019)
Types | Quantity | Remarks |
---|---|---|
Incinerated ash | Approx. 17,300t | Sludge incineration ash is stored with about 30% of moisture. |
(As of November 2019)
Before constructing underground, check in advance that the mud tube is in close proximity.
