Kohoku Wastewater Treatment Plant treats most of the Kohoku Ward and Tsuzuki Ward and part of Kanagawa Ward, Midori Ward and Aoba Ward. Hilly areas such as Kohoku New Town are divided into separate sewers and low areas along the Tsurumi River are combined sewers.
At the Water Reclamation Center, wastewater from flush toilets and other facilities is treated at high-grade and advanced treatment and discharged to the Tsurumi River (outside site) (Kanto Regional Development Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism) to ensureconservation water quality in public water bodies and rainwater is promptly drained to the Tsurumi River to prevent flooding.
The Water Reclamation Center operates many machines, such as pumps and blowers, using a centralized management method using computers, etc., and strives to create a comfortable living environment in the treatment area.
The pumping stations are Futoo Pumping Station, Niwa Pumping Station, Kawamukai Pumping Station and Kamoi Pumping Station.
