The 28th Yokohama Environmental Activities Award

The Yokohama Environmental Activity Award is a system that commends individuals, organizations, companies, elementary school student students and students who are actively engaged in various environmental conservation, regeneration and creation activities in the region.
It was established in 1993 with the aim of further raising interest in environmental conservation, regeneration and creation, promoting local environmental activities, and promoting environmentally friendly town development. .

All Yokohama City and Kanagawa PrefectureHe has been active for a long period of 111 years with the aim of becoming familiar with nature, conducting research on plants, and spreading ideas on plants and nature conservation. We conducted a flora survey and created a leaf specimen, and published "Plants in Yokohama 2020-Plants in Yokohama (2003) Addendum" as a culmination of the results. Exhibitions and observation sessions will be held on holidays to create a system that makes it easier for young people to participate.

Aoba WardNew values and ideas that lead to solving issues will be taken and spread, mainly by the student council, and expanded to school-wide initiatives. A study session on marine plastic issues was held at the student council, and learning was promoted at all schools. We will take up the reduction of shopping bags as junior high school students can do, create school original my bags, and distribute them to all school students. We will also introduce initiatives in Neighborhood Associations, etc., and sell them to those who agree with the purpose.
Practical AwardYokohama City Orimoto Elementary School (application documents (PDF: 4,813KB))Tsuzuki Ward  In the 36-year-old elementary school student flower-filled campaign, the elementary school student of the Environment Committee took the initiative to take seeds from flowers that have finished blooming and to grow flowers from those seeds the following year. In addition, a beetle observation by the elementary school student explored ecology throughout the class, brought back larvae with the cooperation of the community, began observation and breeding. Respect the independence of the elementary school student and engage in activities.
