Environmental activities of elementary school students lead to environmental conservation overseas

Children's "Eco-Activity." Great Operation! What is it?

This is a project in which elementary school students engage in environmental activities in summer. Companies support these efforts, and sponsorship funds are donated to overseas environmental conservation activities.

"Eco-Activity" for elementary school students

Aim :Thinking about environmental issues from familiar behavior in everyday life
Target: Elementary school students in the city (4th and 5th graders)
Contents: Have them take on various environmental actions, such as "bring my bag" and "confirmation of expiration date".
Period of activity: Around July to August

Corporate Support

Members of the Yokohama City Environmental Conservation Council and the Yokohama Chamber of Commerce and Industry support and support the efforts of elementary school students.

The sponsorship fund will be used for tree planting activities in Mindanao, Philippines, conducted by the United Nations Food Support Organization "UN WFP".

Results of Initiatives

15,383 elementary school students in the city worked on various environmental activities using the "Eco-Life Check Sheet" during the summer vacation!
This initiative was supported by 69 companies and 5 organizations in the city, and 1.37 million yen was donated to environmental conservation activities in the Philippines.

A presentation ceremony was held at the representative school!

We received letters of appreciation from the United Nations WFP Association and Yokohama City at the morning meeting of all schools in Bairin Elementary School in Isogo Ward.

Support Details

The donations from members of the Yokohama City Environmental Conservation Council and the Yokohama Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which support the efforts of elementary school students, were donated to tree planting activities in Mindanao, Philippines by the United Nations Food Support Organization "UN WFP" to plant trees in Mindanao.
In Mindanao, located in the southern Philippines, various natural disasters occur frequently, many of which are deteriorating due to human problems such as illegal logging and poor drainage.
We support tree-planting activities to preserve the environment of Mindanao.
