This is a project in which elementary school students engage in environmental activities during summer vacation. Companies support these efforts, and the sponsorship money is donated to overseas environmental conservation activities.

"Eco Activity" for elementary school students

Aim: Think about environmental issues from familiar actions in everyday life
Target: Elementary school students in the city (4th and 5th graders)
Contents: Use the "Eco-Life Check Sheet" to challenge various environmental actions, such as "Eating seasonal items, vegetables and fruits from Yokohama," and "Using a water bottle."
Initiatives Period: During the summer vacation at elementary school

Support for Companies

Members of the Yokohama City Environmental Conservation Council and the Yokohama Chamber of Commerce support and support the efforts of elementary school students.

Global Environment conservation

The funds will be used for tree-planting activities in Mindanao, Philippines, conducted by the United Nations WFP, a food support organization.

20,723 elementary school students in the city worked on various environmental activities during the summer vacation using the "Eco-Life Check Sheet"!
This initiative was supported by 73 companies and 4 organizations in the city, and 1.63 million yen was donated to environmental conservation activities in the Philippines.

A presentation ceremony for a letter of appreciation was held at the representative school!

A letter of appreciation was presented by the United Nations WFP Association and Yokohama City at the Kamikawai Elementary School in Asahi Ward.

The result report was held at "SDGs Future City / Environmental Picture Diary Exhibition 2019"!

A panel of the results of the efforts was exhibited and the results were reported to visitors. .

(Environmental picture diary is an effort to freely express what elementary school students think about environmental issues, etc. by combining pictures and sentences as a free issue during summer vacation.)

Contents of support

The donations from members of the Yokohama City Environmental Conservation Council and the Yokohama Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which support elementary school students' efforts, were donated to tree-planting activities in Mindanao, Philippines through the United Nations WFP, a food support organization.
In Mindanao, located in southern Philippines, various natural disasters occur frequently, many of which are exacerbated by human problems such as illegal logging and poor drainage.
We support tree-planting activities to preserve the environment in Mindanao.
