Ofuna Station North ticket gate station building improvement project

With the opening of the Kasama Exit, the time required between the station and the north exit bus terminal will be shortened, and the function of Ofuna Station as a traffic node. In addition, by making the station barrier-free, elderly and disabled people will be able to use it with confidence.

JR Ofuna Station the number of passengers a day is about 190,000, the third largest in the city among JR stations. Prior to the opening of the Kasama Exit, there was only one ticket gate on the Kamakura city area side, and from the north exit bus terminal on the Yokohama city area side to the station ticket gate. Ensuring safety and safety was an issue.

Yokohama City agreed to develop the north exit of JR Ofuna Station in December 2002, and after repeated discussions with East Japan Railway Company.As a result, the use started in February 2006.

  3. Barrier-free support: 1 elevator and 2 escalators

  4. Expected number of passengers: Approximately 40,000 people
