Redevelopment of roads around Minato Odori Avenue and Yokohama Culture Gymnasium
Last Updated June 27, 2024
Project outline of redevelopment of roads around Minato Odori Avenue and Yokohama Culture Gymnasium
In both the Kannai side area and the Seki outer area, large-scale facilities will continue to be located for the realization of "international industry-academia collaboration" and "sightseeing and attracting customers", and it is expected that the number of visitors will create further bustle in the area. . The "Minato Odori Avenue" and "Access Line to Yokohama Culture Gymnasium" facing these large-scale facilities are one continuous line, and improve the integrity between the Kannai area and the outside of the Kannai area, along with the green axis connecting Odori Park and Nihon Odori Avenue.
On the other hand, at present, the roadway is wide and parking on the street is conspicuous, the existing sidewalk is narrow, and considering the future increase in visitors, pedestrian pools are not enough at intersections. For this reason, the existing road space will be rehabilitated based on the roadside use situation, such as by narrowing the width of the roadway and expanding the pedestrian / bicycle traffic space, and strengthening and expanding the safe and comfortable pedestrian network. We will strive to create continuous bustle.
