Radiation dose measurement of roads around facilities in FY2011
Last Updated March 5, 2019
Measurement contents
Priority was given to roads around facilities such as parks, elementary and junior high schools, kindergartens, and nursery schools, which are often used by children, and measured.
General spatial radiation dose
On roads around facilities such as parks, elementary and junior high schools, kindergartens, and nursery schools, we measured spatial gamma doses of 50 cm and 1 meter on the surface of the ground at 1-2 typical places.
Radiation dose at locations that may become microspots
On roads around facilities such as parks, elementary and junior high schools, kindergartens, and nursery schools, gamma doses of 1 cm, 50 cm and 1 meter were measured at places that could become microspots.
Announcement of measurement results
We announced measurement result every ward.
The measurement results were calculated separately for each ward and for general spatial radiation doses in the facility and for radiation doses at points that may become microspots.
About measuring instruments
The measuring instruments used in the measurement are as follows.
Mr. Gamma A2700 type (manufactured by Clear Pulse)
Detector CSI (TI) scintillation detector
Surface height | Estimated response |
---|---|
1 meter | 0.23 microsieverts/hour or more as a guide |
(50 cm) | (0.23 microsieverts/hour or more as a guide) (Measured at 1 meter if it is more than 0.23 microsieverts / hour) |
1 centimeter | 0.59 microsieverts/hour or more as a guide |
If you have any requests for measurement of facilities managed by Public Works Office, please contact Public Works Office in each district.
