Traffic safety measures such as travel routes for preschoolers

Overview

 Following a traffic fatal accident that occurred in Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture on May 8, 2019, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism announced on June 18, "Securing traffic safety such as routes for preschoolers to travel in groups on a daily basis" Notification was issued, and an emergency joint inspection was conducted by facility officials, jurisdiction agencies, road managers, and local police at inspection points extracted by facilities related to childcare and other facilities.
 In addition, as Motoichi's own approach, we extracted intersections where accidents occur frequently and intersections where pedestrians are densely packed, and carried out emergency inspections by road managers.
 In addition, on-site confirmation of requests received from citizens in connection with the accident was promptly conducted. 

Measures required

 Based on the results of these inspections, etc., a list of places where measures are required and a location map are posted. In the future, we will update the information on the implementation status of measures at any time.
 As of the end of August 2022, the following sections have been completed.
 ・Areas selected as a local measure after conducting an emergency joint inspection: 492 locations
 ・Sidewalk maintenance points: 1 location (Tsurugamine Tennocho Line, etc.)
 In addition, the following city planning road maintenance points: As of the end of August 2022, the three locations are under control.
 ・City Planning Road Yamashita Nagatsuta Line
 ・City Planning Road Sakuragi Higashitotsuka Line
 ・Urban Planning Road Ring Route 3 (Gumizawa Nakata area)
