Counter

In addition to registration, lending, and returning, we also accept reservations and consultations (references) on research. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
Please refer to the "Yokohama City Library Usage Guide" for registration, lending, reservation, etc.


Book book return box

If the library is closed at night or on closed days, you can return the materials to book return box.
Please don't put anything other than the materials of Yokohama City Library.

A corner of familiar information

Regional Information Corner

In addition to announcements from the Yokohama City Hall and the Sakae Ward Office, there are also information on events such as community care plazas and district centers, flyers and pamphlets for various events organized by civil society organizations.
In addition, posters are also posted on the bulletin board, and there is a variety of information such as lectures, concerts, seminars and community exploration meetings, and recruitment of chorus group members.

The old newspaper is in the library, so if you wish, please apply at the counter.

We have telephone books for the Kanto region (Ibaraki, Tochigi, Gunma, Saitama, Chiba, Tokyo, Kanagawa) and Yamanashi and Shizuoka prefectures.

Please apply at the counter to view housing maps including Sakae Ward.
The road map for rental can be found in the "General Book Corner" on the second floor.
Please refer to the “Sakae Library Sakae Ward Housing Map Catalog” for information on housing maps in Sakae Ward.


Internet terminals

We have installed two PCs that can browse the Internet.
In addition to the information in library materials, it can be used for various research, such as obtaining the latest information from the Internet.
You can also use an online database.

Children's Book

Picture book corner

Picture books are divided into three categories: story picture books, knowledge picture books, and small picture books.
"Story picture books" and "small picture books" are in alphabetical order of the first letter of the painter's last name.
"Picture books of knowledge" are lined up by theme such as insects, trains, and crafts.
The picture-story show is arranged in different colors according to the first letter of the title.


There is also a "Picture Book to Meet for the First Time" corner, which collects picture books for children aged 0 to 3 years.
If you are not sure what kind of book to read for a small child, please use this corner.
Books recommended for small children are introduced in the "Yokohama City Library Kids Page A picture book to enjoy with knees".


The corner of the book of knowledge

Insect book, train book, craft book…This is a corner where you can collect books on knowledge.
It's lined up by theme.


Story corner

It is lined up in the order of the first letter of the last name of the person who wrote the story.
There is also a "First Time Story" corner where books for children in the lower grades of elementary school are collected.
For the first time, a book at the story corner is introduced in the book list "First Time Story".


In addition, in the "Let's read books" corner, books recommended for elementary school students are collected and placed. Grade stickers are attached for each target, so please refer to this selection.


Local materials corner

It contains materials about Sakae Ward, Yokohama, Kanagawa, etc.


A corner of the corner

There are picture books and dictionaries.
You can't borrow it, so please see it in the library.
There is also a reading seat for children only (up to junior high school students), so you can use it when you do something.


Foreign Language Book Corner

I have a collection of children's books written in English and Hangul.
Why don't you read picture books you read in English or Hangul for adults as well as children?


Children's Book Research Corner

This is a corner where you can collect materials about children's books.
Lists of picture books and children's books, books on how to read stories, and research books on children's literature.
I have it.

Corner of General Books

Teens corner

It's not enough at the corner of the children's book, but there are too many books in the general book corner and I can't find a book that fits me perfectly. This is a corner that collects books for such teenagers.
We have books on various themes, from books on school life, career and work, to introductory books on each subject, hobby books such as music, sports and cooking, and novels.


Bunko Book Corner

This is a corner where paperback books are collected.


Reference Book Corner

This is a corner where dictionaries and white papers are collected. You can't borrow it, so please take a look inside the museum.
Reading seats (32 seats) for research are also available.

If you are using a personal computer or calculator, please use the personal computer seat (2 seats) in front of the conference room.


Local materials corner

This section contains materials about Sakae Ward, Yokohama, Kanagawa, etc.
We collect materials and administrative materials that allow you to know the local history.
A book about Sakae Ward is introduced in the Sakae Library Book List.


Large print corner

This is a corner where books written in large print (large print) are collected for easy reading.


Foreign Language Book Corner

In addition to novels and practical books written in English and Chinese, there are also materials such as living information in Spanish and Portuguese.


Magazine corner

It's a corner where magazines are collected. The latest issue cannot be borrowed, so please see it in the library.
 For magazines held by Sakae Library, please refer to the Sakae Library Collection Magazine Catalog.


Large book corner

This is a corner where large materials such as art books are collected.
Lending is also possible.


Other Information

There is a courtyard at the back of the corner of the children's book on the first floor, and a terrace at the back of the reference book corner on the second floor.
This is a space where you can eat and drink, so please feel free to use it.
Please be sure to take your garbage home.

It is a place where you can bring books that are no longer needed at home and exchange them with residents of the city.
It's not the recycling of books in the library.

Take out the book
1 person, 1 time, up to 5 books (degree)
No procedure is required. Feel free to take it home.

It is usually used for meetings and library events.
Only when not used as a conference room, it is open as a reading room (30 seats).

The transliterator reads out the material you want. Advance reservations are required for use.

There are 5 machines on the first floor and 3 machines on the second floor, and user search machines to search for library materials.
If you don't know how to use it, ask the counter on the first floor.

There is one enlarged reading device on the second floor. If you have difficulty reading characters of normal size, please use them freely.
At the counter on the first floor, magnifying mirrors (loupes) and reading glasses are also rented (only in the hall).
If you need it, please let us know.
