Information on various services
In addition to lending, returning, and reservations, the library offers a variety of services.

Internet terminals
Next to the counter on the first floor, there are two computers that can use the Internet. Please use it for your research.
Information on usage
- Please apply at the counter.
- It can be used for free.
- Various databasesYou can use it. For more information, please contact us at the counter.
- Up to 6 frames (3 hours) per person can be used for 30 minutes per person per time. (Please note that if a reservation is made, it will be replaced.)
- Only during use, reservations will be accepted in the following order. However, reservations cannot be made by telephone or other means without visiting the museum or making a reservation by specifying the time.
Caution
- Since it is a personal computer dedicated to browsing the Internet, it cannot be used for Word, Excel, e-mail, games, chat, posting on bulletin boards, browsing CD-ROMs, etc.
- Printing out and data cannot be downloaded.
- I can't answer any questions about computer operation.
Reuse paperback
It is a place to bring books that are no longer needed at home and exchange them with residents of the city. It is located at the entrance of the library.
(It is not a recycling of books in the library.)
When you bring a book
- Take it to the Izumi Library counter.
- Please refrain from sending by mail or courier service.
- Up to 20 books per person
However, the following books are not allowed to bring in.
- Thoroughly dirt (including writing, markers, etc.), damaged, or sunburn on paper
- For the purpose of advertising, political activities, or religion missionary
- Those that interfere with the healthy development of young people
- Encyclopedia, complete literature, etc.
- Old publications in picture books, etc.
- Recycled books from other cities and other facilities
When taking out a book
・Up to 20 books (approximately) per person
・If you don't need it, please dispose of it yourself. (Please refrain from bringing it in again.)
Copy service
The copier is located in front of the counter on the first floor. This is a coin-operated self-service. Please feel free to use it.
Charges
- Black and white cost is 10 yen per sheet regardless of size.
- The color B5, B4, and A4 versions cost 50 yen per sheet, and the A3 version costs 80 yen per sheet.
"Izumi Ward News" bulletin board
News about Izumi Ward published in newspapers and town magazines is posted on the bulletin board on the second floor.
You can find the latest information on Izumi Ward.
Lending of reading aids
If the text of the book are difficult to read in the library, the following items are available.
It will be rented out in the museum. If you wish, please contact the counter on the 1st floor.
- Enlarged reading device (installed in the face-to-face reading room on the first floor)
- Reading glasses
- Magnifying glass (loupe)
- Reading tracker (Assistance Bookmarks)
Support services for persons with disabilities
In order to receive the service, you will need to register. I'll ask you your name, Address, Phone number and the degree of disability.
Registration is common to the city, so you can receive "face-to-face reading" at all museums in Yokohama City Library with one procedure.
We also lend Braille and talking books by mail from Chuo-toshokan. For more information, please click here.

Face-to-face reading service
The reader will read the desired books, newspapers, magazines, etc. in the face-to-face reading room (photo) of the library. The library is available during the opening hours of the library.
※In order to prevent COVID-19 infection, we are currently providing face-to-face reading services using a conference room where social distance can be secured.
