The 30th anniversary of the opening of the current Chuo-toshokan in 2024.
To commemorate this, an event was held on Saturday, November 23 (Saturday and holiday).

Events held so far

Grow up quickly! Animal Exhibition

We exhibited panels and books that show the baby and parent and child of the animal.
Period: From Wednesday, November 6 to Sunday, December 15
Location: Chuo-toshokan 1st floor exhibition corner
Co-sponsored by: Nogeyama Zoo

Theatre gate "A restaurant with many orders"

We held a participatory drama event for Kenji Miyazawa's original "Food Restaurants with Many Orders".
Participating children enjoyed the theater world with the stage actors.
With the cups, spoons and forks distributed in advance, they sounded rattles and sounds according to the scene, made cats, and entered the world of the story with sounds and voices.
Children who watch the play for the first time also enjoyed it!

Date and time: From 10:30 am to 11:30 am on Saturday, November 23 (Saturday and holiday)
Location: Chuo-toshokan B1F Hall
Target: Children between the ages of 0 and 8 and their parents
Number of people: 150 people
Director: Makoto Niimi (from Yokohama). President of the Future Creation School, Tetote.
Performer:
 Kosuke Iwanaga (born in Yokohama). Office Maharo Co., Ltd.
 Yuki Sato (from Miyagi Prefecture). After completing the 14th term of the New National Theatre Theater Training Center, he is active on the stage. )

Let's make a bear mask!

A workshop on making bear masks was held.
First, we heard from a Nogeyama Zoo breeder about a black bear (Sanpei Komachi) bred at the zoo.
After that, each participant concentrated on making masks.
Everybody who participated has a nice mask!

The world of "Ayatori" spreading from your hands

Ayatori's workshop was held.
Ayatori Satoshi, who is also active as a teacher in various facilities and media, taught me about moving ayatori and ayatori around the world.
In the big ayatori we took together, we were able to enjoy it with other participants and parents.
Finally, the children used Ayatori's strings to make wonderful ornaments with their own decorations and make them souvenirs.

Target: From 5 years old to elementary school students
Number of people: 24 children
Lecturer: Ayatori Satoshi-kun (elementary school student living in the city, Ayatori classroom instructor)

Exhibition Until the "Central" Library in Yokohama City is established

I looked back on the materials and images of Chuo-toshokan from the planning stage to completion.
Period: From Tuesday, March 19 to Monday, May 6 (holiday)
Venue / Chuo-toshokan 1F Exhibition Space
In addition, exhibitions related to the 30th anniversary were also held on each floor of the museum.

Spring Storytelling Party

We held a special talk session by age.
With the help of the volunteers, we were able to enjoy reading children's songs and picture books together.
We also provided advice on reading stories to applicants.
