Request for Donation of Books

Yokohama City Library collects information such as books and provides it widely to citizens and passes it on to future generations as important intellectual property.
Please cooperate by all means to enrich document to offer to citizen's everybody.

• If you would like to help collect materials, please bring it to your local library counter.
• The handling of the donated books will be left to the library.
• Please note that we may not be able to meet your kindness.

For those who have books on Yokohama City and Kanagawa Prefecture
For individuals, companies, organizations, etc. who are thinking of contributing to society through the library

The Yokohama City Library strives to collect local materials related to Yokohama City and Kanagawa Prefecture.
If you have any of the following books or are newly published, please donate them to the library.

• Local materials written about Yokohama City and Kanagawa Prefecture
• School history, company history, Neighborhood Associations history, commemorative magazine

We are looking for donations of books and children's books that will be useful for research and research.

• Donations will be accepted from one book.
• The library will select books according to the desired field and amount of money.
• We accept requests for individuals, companies and organizations.

If you donate 18 or more books (20,000 yen or more) or if you donate every year, we will honor them in the following ways if you wish.

1. Attach the donation recognition sticker to the back cover of the donated book (inside the book).
2. Donor information will be posted on the website of Yokohama City Library "Introduction to Companies and Organizations that cooperated."
3. We will inform you that you donated by Yokohama City Library X (former Twitter).
4. There will be a corner to introduce books donated to Yokohama City Library for a certain period of time.
5. A presentation ceremony for the donated books will be held.

　Those who wish to receive awards are looking for donations from companies and organizations! ! Please take a look.

We are looking for sponsors to support the publication of magazines and newspapers in Yokohama City Library.
Advertisements of sponsoring companies will be posted in magazines, etc., so please use them as a "PR place" for local companies and organizations!

Please donate a book that you have read or no longer needed.
In particular, if you have any of the following books, please donate them to the library.

• Books within approximately five years after publication
• Books with many reservations (s)Books with a lot of reservations: Yokohama City Library online catalog Page (yokohama.lg.jp) (outside site)）
• Children's books that are popular with children

Requests for donation-Please check before donating ~
The following materials are not allowed to be donated.
Please check it when you donate.

1. Materials with broken, sunburn, dirt, writing, collection stamps and signs.
2. Encyclopedias, picture books, complete literature and art collections already in City Library.

In addition, the donated books may be placed in the "Reuse Bunko". Thank you for your understanding.

There is also a "Reuse Bunko" where you can provide books that are no longer needed to those who want to read. For more information, please visit City of Yokohama, Resources and Waste Recycling Bureau's "Reuse Bunko" page.
