Consultation support project for crime victims

According to criminal and accident statistics by the Kanagawa Prefectural Police and others, the number of criminal offenses acknowledgement in Yokohama in 2023 was 16,059, representing about 44 crimes per day. In addition, the number of casualties due to traffic accidents was 8,521 (2022).
The damage caused by a crime or traffic accident is by no means another person.
In June 2012, Yokohama City established the “Yokohama City Crime Victim Counseling Room” to support crime victims, etc. In addition to providing support, we carry out various enlightenment projects to deepen the understanding of those who have been affected by crime.

The Yokohama Crime Victim Counseling Room

In this counseling room, we accept consultations from individuals who have suffered crimes due to living, working, or attending school in Yokohama City, or their families and bereaved families.
