Last Updated March 7, 2024

According to crime and accident statistics of Kanagawa acknowledgement, the number of criminal offenses in Yokohama City was 16,059 in 2023, indicating that about 44 crimes per day. In addition, the number of casualties caused by traffic accidents was 8,521 (2022).
The damage caused by a crime or traffic accident is by no means another person's affairs.
In June 2012, Yokohama City established the "Yokohama Crime Victim Consultation Room" to support crime victims, etc., and provides consultation from citizens, their families, bereaved families, etc. In addition to providing support, we carry out various enlightenment projects to deepen understanding of those affected by crime.
