Payment of funeral expenses

When the insured person dies, 50,000 yen will be paid to the person who performed the funeral (mourner) by application. (Two years have passed since the day after the funeral, and payment will not be possible.)
For details on the procedure, please contact the ward office Insurance and Pension Division National Health Insurance Section in the ward where the deceased lived.

About procedure of medical system for elder senior citizens by mail
・The insurance card of the deceased insured person (late-elderly medical insured person card) or qualification confirmation (not required if already returned)
・Deposit passbook (those specified as the transfer account)
・The name of the mourner, the name of the deceased, and the date of the funeral (such as a funeral note, a funeral receipt, etc.)
・The seal of the mourner (using vermilion)　※It is necessary when specifying an account other than the mourner as the transfer destination.

※After two years from the day after the funeral, the statute of limitations will expire and you will not be able to apply.

In the Kanagawa Prefecture Senior Citizens' Medical Association, when burial or cremation is performed, only "burial" or "cremation" is eligible for payment.
In that case, please bring one of the following documents as documents that show that you performed burial or cremation.
・Receipt for Cremation Fee
・A cremation permit that has been certified for cremation execution
・Cremation certificate
・Burial (burial) certificate
※When applying for funeral expenses for burial and cremation, it is necessary to submit a separate petition.
