PASMO Auto Charge Service

What is Auto Charge?

  • The PASMO Auto Charge Service is a service that automatically charges the remaining amount of PASMO is less than a certain amount (* 1) when entering and exiting at a ticket gate at a station.
  • To use the PASMO Auto Charge Service, you need your registered PASMO (* 2) and a credit card (* 3) for payment of the usage fee.

(* 1) In the default setting, 3,000 yen will be charged 3,000 yen if the remaining amount is 2,000 yen or less, but the conditions and amount of auto-charge can be changed in units of 1,000 yen to 10,000 yen.
※The PASMO Auto Charge Service cannot be used for more than 10,000 yen per day and 50,000 yen per month.
※On the Yokohama Municipal Subway, all stations are automatically charged at the time of entry and exit, but some stations cannot be autocharged at some other railway stations. For more information, please contact your local railway company.

(*2) PASMO has a registered name and anonymous type. If you have registered your name when purchasing PASMO, it is your registered PASMO. Your name is written in katakana on the card.
Please note that the auto charge service is not available with anonymous PASMO. Please change to a registered name at the automatic ticket vending machine at all subway stations, station offices, and customer service centers in Centerminami, Shin-Yokohama, Yokohama, and Kamiooka. In addition, Hama Eco Card does not support the auto charge service of PASMO for children.

(*3) The credit card for paying the autocharge usage fee is limited to those in the name of the PASMO owner who applies for the auto charge service. In addition, you can get an autocharge service with one PASMO per credit card.
It is not possible to apply for an autocharge service for two or more PASMO for one credit card.

How to apply for the Auto Charge Service

There is a difference in the application method between those who already have a Hama Eco Card and those who will join the Hama Eco Card in the future, so please see each explanation.

[A] Those who have subscribed to the Hama Eco Card or who are currently applying for membership

  1. If you are currently applying for a Hama Eco Card, please apply for the Auto Charge Service after you receive the Hama Eco Card.
  2. Make sure that your PASMO is a registered or anonymous.
  3. Autocharge service is not available for anonymous PASMO (card with katakana and no name written on the card). Please change to a registered name at the nearest station office or at the customer service center.
    ※If you do not have PASMO, please purchase your registered PASMO first. It can be purchased at the station's automatic ticket vending machine at the station or at the commuter pass counter.
  4. Please fill out the "PASMO Auto Charge Service Enrollment Application Form" and mail it.
    ※You can receive the "PASMO Auto Charge Service Enrollment Application Form" at the station office or Customer Service Center or download it from the link below.

  1. The Auto Charge Service is set up by Pasmo Co., Ltd. You will receive a postcard in about 3 weeks.
    ※At this time, the application has not been completed. If you do not receive a postcard 3 weeks after your application, or if you do not receive a postcard.
    If you change your Address before you arrive, please contact PASMO Auto Charge Service Center.

  2. Please bring the information postcard you sent and the registered PASMO to your local station office. Set the usage of the autocharge service on the spot.
    ※If you do not complete the procedure by the date indicated on the postcard, you will need to apply for the PASMO Auto Charge Service again. Some railway operators can use the PASMO autocharge service on ticket vending machines. For more information, please contact the PASMO service provider.

[B] Those who are going to join the Hama Eco Card

  1. Please apply for membership to the Hama Eco Card from the Yokohama Kotsu hama-eco card application page for the Mitsui Sumitomo VISA Card.
  2. You will receive the Hama Eco Card in about one week, so please apply for the PASMO Auto Charge Service using the method described in [A] as soon as it arrives.
