About the school elevator

　Currently, elementary school studenｔ students have difficulty going up and down stairs due to the use of wheelchairs. If you do not have an elevator at the school you plan to enroll, we recommend that you contact the school as soon as possible and go for a tour or consultation.

This is a list of municipal schools where elevators are installed. (As of April 1, 2024)

• Some schools listed on this list may not be accessible with wheelchairs. Please contact each school for details such as specific elevator installation locations. (Example: If there is a school building that is separate from the school building where the elevator is installed.)
• We are also updating aging elevators. During the renewal period, the elevator will be temporarily unavailable.
• Installation of an elevator takes several years to design and construct, and depending on the layout of the school building, it may be difficult to maintain.
• Schools and complex facilities on the same premises share elevators. (Minami High School attached to Yokohama Science Frontier High School, Nakamura Special Support School, Higashimatano Special Needs School, Arai Elementary School Sakurazaka Branch School, Arai Junior High School Sakurazaka Branch School, Arai Junior High School Sakurazaka Branch School)

In fiscal 2024, we plan to install elevators at 30 schools.
