About opinion offer to "basic policy about attending school area system of Yokohama municipal elementary and junior high school and school scale" draft

　In Yokohama City, based on the "Basic Policy on School Area System and School Size of Yokohama City Elementary and Junior High Schools" formulated in December 2010, we promoted the appropriateness of school scale to ensure a good educational environment for children. However, more than seven years have passed since the formulation, and a review was required to respond to environmental changes such as the rapid increase in local elementary school studenｔ students due to housing development.
　For this reason, in order to revise the basic policy, based on the consultation from the Board of Education, an affiliated organization consisting of academics, parents, regional representatives, school officials, etc. The committee examined the matter, and in July 2018, a report summarizing the contents of the discussion was submitted to the Board of Education.
　Based on the report of the Committee, City of Yokohama, Board of Education Secretariat created a revised draft of its basic policy and solicited opinions from citizens.
