Regarding the "Basic Policy on School Area System and School Size of Yokohama City Elementary and Junior High Schools" formulated in December 2010 (hereinafter referred to as the "Basic Policy"), it is necessary to review the basic policy to respond to changes in the environment. From August 2017, discussions have been held at the Yokohama City School Scale Optimization Exploratory Committee (hereinafter referred to as the "Committee").
The committee deliberated six times, and the contents were submitted to the Board of Education on July 6, 2018 as a report.
Basic policy was revised on December 21, 2018 based on report of committee and based on opinion from citizen's all of you sent by citizen opinion offer. Based on the basic policy, we will promote initiatives to improve the educational environment for children.
