※Applicable to children enrolled in Yokohama Municipal Elementary and Junior High School who are certified by Subsidies for School Expenses.

Yokohama City Semi-Necessary Protection elementary school student Student Glasses Purchase Aid Project
Yokohama City will issue eyeglasses tickets to children who are certified by the Subsidies for School Expenses, who are enrolled in elementary, middle and compulsory education schools in Yokohama, who need glasses due to poor vision.
Assistance target
- Being certified by Subsidies for School Expenses.
- The naked eye vision at school physical checkup (for elementary school student students who already have glasses, corrected vision) must be less than C (less than 0.7) in a single eye 370 system.
About application for assistance
The target child will be given a request survey form from the school, so please fill out the form and submit it to the school within the deadline.
- Survey: May to June ("Megane Tickets" are issued around mid-July)
Amount of assistance, etc.
- Eye examination fee (per person) 2,750 yen (uniform) ※Please give priority to the pediatric medical system for eye examination.
- Glasses purchase price (including adjustment) Maximum amount of 5,000 yen (up to one per person)
※All of the above amounts include tax.
Precautions when receiving assistance
- The number of assistance provided by this project (the purchase price of glasses) is once per elementary school and once per junior high school.
- Assistance cannot be received without a "glass ticket".
- Limited to purchases at designated stores after consulting and examining at designated medical institutions.
- If you exceed the limit when purchasing glasses, the difference will be borne by the guardian.
- Purchases and contact lenses due to damage to glasses are not covered by this project.
