Basically, school lunch is supposed to be cooked in the facility (some items are allowed to be brought in from outside), but in the home-based childcare business, you may need to bring a lunch box, so please check with the facilities and businesses in advance for the implementation of the school lunch.

school lunch, a municipal nursery school

In nursery schools, school lunch is positioned as a major pillar of childcare as a foundation for the healthy development of children, and operates in cooperation with families and communities from the perspective of health promotion throughout their lives, providing safe and delicious school lunch by incorporating the nutrients necessary for a day as children grow up.
We also give due consideration to the creation of a dietary environment and dietary education so that students can learn how to eat and manners through every school lunch experience, incorporate seasonal ingredients and eat a variety of ingredients and dishes.

  • Natural soup stock (boiled, shaved knot, kelp) is used.
  • The curry roux is handmade.
  • All vegetables are heat-treated.
  • Processed products such as ham and kamaboko are boiled and used.
  • It is a 2-week cycle menu to get used to the ingredients and cooking methods.

Response to food allergies

In order to provide safe school lunch, Yokohama City has prepared a manual for dealing with food allergies in daycare centers based on the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare's "Guidelines for Allergy in daycare centers" to meet with parents and guardians, and has completely removed them based on instructions from doctors (Life Management Guidance Table).
We provide alternatives as much as possible so that you can get the nutrients you need for growth, but if it is difficult to respond in the garden, you may need to bring your lunch from home.
